One of the most unforgettable parts of staying at Columbia Gorge Getaways is how quickly you can step from your yurt, tent or campsite into pure Pacific Northwest wilderness. Our private trail network winds through old‑growth forests, mossy creek corridors, and ridge‑top viewpoints — all without ever leaving the property.
Whether you’re looking for a quick morning wander or a heart‑pumping climb, the CGG Trail Map offers something for every pace and every season.
Mountainside Trail
Distance: ~0.75 miles
Elevation Gain: ~525 feet
Best for: A short but invigorating climb with big payoff views
The Mountainside Trail is our signature ascent — a steady, satisfying climb that lifts you from the forest floor to the elevated panoramic view from the Mountainside Lawn. Along the way, the trail follows an old logging road as it threads through fir and cedar stands. It’s the perfect post‑coffee wake‑up hike or golden‑hour stroll, especially if you love a little elevation with your adventure.
Huckleberry Trail
Distance: ~0.45 miles
Best for: A peaceful forest loop rich with Northwest character
Named for the native huckleberries that thrive along its edges, this trail offers a gentle wander through lush woodland. It’s ideal for families, photographers, and anyone who wants a quiet, immersive nature walk. The Huckleberry Trail connects beautifully with other paths, making it a great add‑on for guests exploring the property at a relaxed pace.
Creek Trail
Distance: ~0.25 miles
Best for: A short, serene walk along Getaways Creek
The Creek Trail is the most tranquil path on the map — a soft, meandering route to a quiet forested bench at the clear waters of Getaways Creek. It’s a favorite for morning meditation walks, kid‑friendly exploring, and anyone who wants to unwind beside the sound of flowing water.
Meet “Grandma,” Our 500‑Year‑Old Douglas Fir
No visit to CGG is complete without paying a quiet moment of respect to Grandma — the towering old‑growth Douglas fir that has watched over this land for roughly half a millennium. She stands as a living reminder of the Gorge’s deep ecological history and is easily accessible from the main trail network.

Landmarks Along the Way
As you explore, you’ll pass several special spots that make the property feel like its own little world:
• Mountainside Lawn — A sunny open space perfect for picnics and stargazing, with sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge, the Wind River Canyon, and Mt. Hood.
• Scenic Ridge Glampground — Here you'll find Safari Tents, Bell Tents, a Playground and 2 XL Tentipi Event Tents.
• Cedar Shade Picnic Area — A cool, quiet lunch stop near the creek, tucked beneath a forest of big beautiful cedar trees.
• Creekside Yurts — Four unique stays nestled right along the water.
Each landmark is woven naturally into the trail system, making it easy to turn a simple walk into a full afternoon of discovery.
Choose Your Adventure
With three distinct trails and multiple scenic features, Columbia Gorge Getaways offers a choose‑your‑own‑adventure experience for hikers of all levels. Whether you’re chasing views, wandering through old forest, or dipping your toes in the creek, the trail network is designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the land.
