If you’re dreaming of waterfalls, winding forest trails, small‑town charm, and nights under a sky full of stars, the Columbia River Gorge is the place to be. Whether you’re flying in for a long weekend or planning a full getaway, this five‑day itinerary brings together the best of the region — with Columbia Gorge Getaways as your home base.
Day 1: Your First Night at CGG
Fly into Portland (PDX) and enjoy a scenic 60‑minute drive to Columbia Gorge Getaways. You can take the dramatic, winding curves of Washington’s Highway 14 or cruise along Oregon’s I‑84 — and if you choose the Oregon side, stop at Multnomah Falls, the state’s tallest waterfall at 620 feet.
After checking in, settle into your yurt — the Tahoma Yurt is a guest favorite.
Enjoy the luxury full kitchen and prep dinner onsite, or grab something along the way.
End your first night with marshmallows by your private firepit and a sky full of stars.
Day 2: Waterfall Hikes, Hot Springs & Local Beer
After a hearty breakfast, start the morning with a gentle hike to Falls Creek Falls, a 3.5‑mile out‑and‑back trail just 25 minutes from CGG. On your way back, stop at Panther Creek Falls, a quick 0.16‑mile roadside walk to a stunning cascade.

After your waterfall double‑feature, treat yourself and unwind in the mineral pools at Carson Hot Springs.
When hunger hits, head to Backwoods Brewery for dinner and drinks — a local favorite with an unmatched laid‑back vibe.

Day 3: Exploring CGG, Swimming Holes & Stevenson
Spend the morning exploring the property.
Take the short hike to “Grandma,” the onsite 500‑year‑old Douglas fir, and continue up to the Mountainside Lawn, and enjoy a picnic brunch.

Cool off afterward at the local swimming hole just two miles down Bear Creek Rd,
Spend your afternoon in Stevenson, WA exploring shops, wine, and waterfront wandering. Highlights include:
Traverse Market
Walking Man Brewery
Skunk Brothers Distillery
Out and About
Wrap up the day with dinner at Skamania Lodge, where the views are as good as the food.
Day 4: Hood River Adventures — Bikes, Breweries & Art
Cross the river into Oregon and spend the day in Hood River, OR just 30 minutes from CGG. Rent bikes and hit the mountain trails above town, or enjoy a scenic ride through the Mosier Twin Tunnels.
Afterward, explore Hood River’s shops, tasting rooms, and breweries:
Marchesi Vineyards
Wy’East Vineyards
pFriem Family Brewers
Ferment Brewing
302 Art Gallery
Made in the Gorge
Art on Oak
Stay for dinner in town or bring something delicious back to your yurt for a cozy night in.
Day 5: Farewell to the Gorge
Enjoy a slow morning before driving back to PDX. With waterfalls, forests, small‑town gems, and peaceful nights at CGG, you’ll leave refreshed — and probably already planning your next trip.
